USA Surfing is recognized by the International Surfing Association (ISA). The ISA is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing, Para Surfing, Stand Up Paddling, Prone Paddling, Bodyboarding, and Surfriding. As the exclusively ISA-recognized governing body for the sport of surfing in the United States, USA Surfing must provide an equal opportunity to amateur athletes, coaches, trainers, managers, administrators, and officials to participate in amateur athletic competition, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin as required by §220522(8) the Act. c. NGB must provide equitable support and encouragement for participation by women where separate programs for male and female athletes are conducted on a national basis as required by the Act §220524(a)(6) and comply with the Equal Pay for Team USA requirements of the Act §220524(7) and (8).
