Kamaka Responsible Development Named Title Sponsor for the 2026 USA Surfing Championships

Kamaka Responsible Development Named Title Sponsor for the 2026 USA Surfing Championships

Landmark Partnership to Establish an American Training Center for USA Surfing's National Team

SAN CLEMENTE, CA, June 16, 2026 — USA Surfing has named San Clemente-based Kamaka Responsible Development ("Kamaka") the Title Sponsor of the 2026 USA Surfing Championships, which recently concluded in Oceanside, California, and will now move to Lower Trestles (June 16–20).

As part of the partnership, a state-of-the-art wave pool now under development in Utah will become an American Training Center for the USA Surfing official National Team, when it opens in late 2027. The wave pool, powered by Endless Surf’s next-generation surf park technology, will have the ability to replicate similar wave conditions to Lower Trestles, the venue for the surfing competition at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028. For athletes, this creates opportunities to refine technique, test strategy, and maximize performance before competition. The training center will represent another lever for USA Surfing athletes and coaches, allowing them to supplement ocean-based training with consistent, repeatable opportunities to refine technique, test strategy, and maximize performance.

Kamaka and Resin Services is supporting USA Surfing’s programs, teams, and athletes in ways that have created new opportunities for American surfers to compete and progress on the world stage. This level of support further strengthens every sponsor who has invested in the American surfing ecosystem.

“Kamaka’s commitment gives the next generation of U.S. surfers the ability to train on demand against conditions they’ll face in competition,” said USA Surfing coach and two-time US Open winner Brett Simpson. “That’s the kind of investment that changes the trajectory of the sport, making it an exciting tool for American surfers preparing to take on the world’s best.” The 2026 Championship events will mark USA Surfing’s first as the newly certified National Governing Body for surfing in the United States and will showcase the nation’s top under-18 surf talent at a defining moment for the sport.

“This is more than a sponsorship; it's a long-term commitment to the future of American surfing," said Jackson Sheppard, President and Co-Founder of Kamaka. "This is a transformational moment for U.S. surfing. We're proud to invest in the 2026 USA Surfing Championships, the athlete pipeline, and a state-of-the-art National Training Center that will shape the next generation of our country’s top surfers, building on our gold medal success."

The training center is being developed alongside Endless Surf, whose advanced pneumatic wave technology will power its high-performance surf environment with critical versatility. Endless Surf’s technology dials up wave shapes and speeds that mimic real-life ocean conditions, including the waves athletes face in competition. Resin Services, a longtime champion of the American surfing community, whose 2+ year commitment to USA Surfing has helped fuel athlete development and world-stage competition, is a foundational partner in the project and in the broader mission to grow American surfing.

“Together, these partners are part of a strong and growing coalition of sponsors who make American surfing possible, and who share a belief in what American surfing can become,” said USA Surfing CEO Greg Hulsizer. “Their commitment creates a compounding effect: every investment in the athlete pipeline, every national championship, and every opportunity for young surfers to compete at the highest-level builds on the last.”

“Supporting USA Surfing at this pivotal moment is an investment in the athletes, families, and future of the sport,” said Todd Kline, Surf Athlete Commissioner of USA Surfing. “The support Kamaka and Resin Services have provided over the past two years has already made a tangible difference for our athletes. This title sponsorship deepens that commitment, elevating the Championships and strengthening the pipeline that will carry American surfing into its most important moment.”
