San Clemente, California (June 15, 2018) – After an incredible day of competition in Oceanside, Calif. at USA Surfing Championships, USA Surfing named its national adaptive team members. The 10-member team will represent the United States at the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Adaptive Surfing Championship in December in La Jolla, California.
 
USA Surfing CEO Greg Cruse and President Andrea Swayne announced the USA Surfing Adaptive national team members at a stoke-filled ceremony. Team members include: Alana Nichols, Ryan Gambrell, Jesse Billauer, Quinn Waitley, Jeff Munson, Christiaan Bailey, Josh Loya, Dani Burt, Carter Hess, Thomas Wilson
 
“The skill and athleticism displayed by athletes competing in USA Surfing’s adaptive championships this week are absolutely inspiring,” Cruse said. “We are beyond proud to name these team members. They will represent the USA with honor, strength and courage.”
 
The new USA Surfing national adaptive team will have a training session this afternoon at San Onofre State Beach, Lower Trestles. The team will be preparing to compete against more than 20 other countries at the December ISA World Championships in La Jolla. Adaptive surfing has experienced exceptional growth over the last five years. The ISA is working to get adaptive surfing included in the Paralympic Games.
