Michelle is one of an identical set of triplets. Both she and her sister Meagan have a disability called Cerebral Palsy caused by a traumatic brain injury at birth. Michelle grew up surrounded by the disability community participating in many different sports such as baseball, soccer, martial arts, dirt bike riding, boxing, and surfing. At a young age, sports and the community it brings became a huge passion.
Michelle spent three years living in Australia teaching which led her to Boston University to get her master's degree. She is now living in San Diego working as an educator and disability activist.
This is Michelle’s first time competing in worlds after a good friend convinced her to do it. With no idea what to expect she is obviously nervous but very excited to join the amazing team USA and eager to see where her surfing career might go!
